Vera is fragrance-free and alcohol-free, so it’s kinder to the person you look after and to your own hands. It was developed by Mariana Cuza, who is a carer too.

Why carers choose Vera

  1. No fragrance or fumes

Fragrance, alcohol and dyes are common triggers for asthma, allergies and sensitive skin. Vera has none of them, and leaves nothing in the air after you clean.

  2. A sanitiser that’s kind to busy hands

Carers clean their hands all day. Vera Touch is alcohol-free, so it won’t sting or dry them out, and it doesn’t leave a sticky feel.

  3. Colour-coded, like hospitals and aged care

The Clean Kit gives the kitchen, the bathroom and everyday surfaces their own bottle and cloth, the way hospitals and aged care homes stop germs spreading. A stronger yellow bottle is for accidents and tough stains.

  4. One concentrate, nothing to mix up

The same concentrate cleans benches, bathrooms, floors and glass, and refills the hand sanitisers. Less to buy, store and carry, and no risk of two cleaners reacting.

  5. Bottles that last for years

Refill the same bottles instead of buying new sprays. One refill lasts months, so it’s one less thing to keep on top of. How refilling works

“I love the product as it doesn’t set my asthma off, so I am now happy to clean.”

“I bought in March and only refilled my bottles again in August. I can’t recommend Vera enough.”

For support workers and care services

If you work across several homes, or buy for a team, Vera keeps things simple.

Visiting clients at home

  • Keep a pocket or handy sanitiser with you. It’s alcohol-free and non-flammable, so it’s safer to leave in a bag or the car.
  • No fragrance, so nothing lingers for a client who is sensitive to smells.
  • The Kit colours work the same in every home: blue for surfaces, green for the kitchen, red for the bathroom and yellow for decontamination.

Using NDIS funding

Vera may be claimable depending on your plan. Here’s how to check.

  1. Check your plan

Some participants can use their funding for cleaning products and some can’t. It depends on what’s been approved for you.

  2. Ask before you buy

Your plan manager or support coordinator can tell you whether Vera fits your plan.

  3. Keep your tax invoice

Every order comes with a tax invoice. We can also send product information to support a claim.

Common questions

Vera is made to be gentle. It has no alcohol, fragrance or dyes, which are the most common causes of skin and breathing reactions. It’s also non-corrosive, non-flammable and leaves no fumes.

Many of our customers have asthma, allergies or sensitive skin. As with any cleaning product, keep it out of reach of children and follow the label.

Use the yellow Decontamination bottle from the Clean Kit. It’s mixed stronger than the others: 350mL of water and 150mL of concentrate.

Clear away any mess and rinse with water. Spray well, leave it for 3 to 5 minutes and scrub if needed, then wipe dry with paper towel, not a microfibre cloth. For very dirty areas, mix water and concentrate 1:1. Wear gloves, or wash your hands afterwards.

The 50mL pocket spray fits in a pocket or small bag. The 125mL handy spray lasts longer and suits a work bag or the car. Both are alcohol-free, so they won’t sting or dry out hands.

You refill both from Vera Concentrate: water to the line on the label, then top up with concentrate. For a home or a care service, the 400mL foam pump uses the ready-mixed 5L Foam Refill instead.

It depends on your plan. Some participants can use their funding for cleaning products and some can’t, depending on what’s been approved for them.

Most of them, including:

  • Benches, tiles, glass and mirrors
  • Floors, carpet and upholstery
  • Stainless steel, ovens, appliances, pots and pans
  • Plastic, vinyl and unlacquered timber
  • Fabrics

Don’t use it on lacquered timber. If you’re not sure about a surface, try a small hidden spot first.

Fill a Clean Kit bottle with clean water up to the line on the label, then top up with concentrate to the line on the neck. Go slowly so it doesn’t foam up.

The pocket and handy sanitisers have one line on the label instead, and the foam pump uses the ready-mixed Foam Refill with no mixing needed.

For everyday cleaning, spray, wait a few seconds, then wipe with a clean cloth. The first time you clean a surface, or where grime has built up, leave it on for a few minutes first. Letting it sit does more than scrubbing harder.
